On 22 April 1964 Tanganyika united with Zanzibar to form the United Republic of Tanganyika and Zanzibar; and, later renamed the United Republic of Tanzania...

INDESCRIBABLEThe unparalleled beauty of Tanzania.

We know that Tanzania is unfamiliar territory to most people in the World. This forward—thinking country has set aside nearly 30% of its natural land for ecology and wildlife conservation... an unprecedented amount, rivaled by few other nations on Earth. It contains people and places unlike any other:-
●  More than 130 different ethnic groups.●  Ngorongoro Crater, the world's largest caldera.●  The greatest concentration of wildlife in the world.●  The vast savannah and immense plains of the Serengeti.●  Kilimanjaro, the highest free-standing mountain on earth.●  Home to 90% of the film series produced on African animals.●  Olduvai Gorge, site of the Leakeys' great discovery—Zinjanthropus Man.●  Elaborately garbed Maasai people, who have maintained their traditions in the face of increasing exposure to Western ways.

To witness that calm rhythm of life revives our worn souls and recaptures a feeling of belonging to the natural world. No one can return from the Serengeti unchanged, for tawny lions will forever prowl our memory and great herds throng our imagination.”

DIVERSITY Before Leaving Tanzania You'll Witness Dozens of Ecosystems & Thousands of wild creatures

Tanzania has a wide variety of eco—systems; nine in Tarangire National Park alone..! These eco—systems give rise to a host of different species of mammals and birds, including wildebeest, elephants, hippo, rhino, zebra, lion, leopard, cheetah, giraffe, impala, oryx, monkey, baboon, and more. Birds include flamingos, vultures, eagles, ostrich, hornbills, and number over 500 species.
The countryside itself is part of the drama: bulbous baobab trees with their massive trunks, kopjes (granite outcrops) that stand alone on the vast plains, golden savannah to volcanic highlands, and lush, green hills. The altitude ranges from sea level to 20,000 feet, which contributes to the startlingly divergent landscapes.

POLITICAL STABILITY Traveling to Tanzania is safe.

There's no denying it: parts of Africa certainly have had their share of instability. The mistake some people make is to look at Africa as a nation, rather than a continent composed of 54 nations.
Tanzania, in particular, has managed to avoid the political upheaval and warfare that has affected so many other African countries. Tribal conflict simply does not occur here, despite the fact that it is the most diverse nation in Africa, with over more than 120 different ethnic groups. On October 29, 1995, Tanzania held its first democratic elections—peacefully. Named Tanganyika after World War I when it was acquired by Britain, the country gained its independence in 1961. In 1963, it was joined by nearby Zanzibar Island, and the two formed the nation of Tanzania. According to the findings of the Leakeys, Tanzania may well be the spot where humankind was born. And over the centuries, it has hosted such World famous travelers as journalist Henry Morton Stanley (on his way to find Dr. David Livingstone), famed explorer Richard Burton and the popular American actor—Will Smith recently visited Tanzania

UNTOURISTEDA Private Experience of an Extraordinary Country.

In neighboring Kenya you may find 20 or more safari vehicles crowded around one sleepy lioness, in Tanzania, you'll find two or a maximum of 5 safari vehicles. If any. the Ruaha National Park, Souls Game Reserve, and Western Serengeti are so vast that you can drive the entire day and not encounter many other safari vehicles. And it's not unusual to find a camp that is absolutely and completely your own. Yet, for all this privacy, you're not giving up a thing. Game viewing in Tanzania is more spectacular than anywhere in the world. And the cultural opportunities are entirely unique. Kenya can't offer this kind of experience to travelers...not anymore, but Tanzania can.

WEATHER AND CLIMATEThe ideal safari adventure climate.

Located just south of the equator at 5,000 feet above sea level, northern Tanzania has generally spring-like weather year—round with low humidity. Even in the warmest season, temperatures rarely reach above 80° F, and the dry heat is comfortable.
There are three main climatic areas in Tanzania: the coastal area, the central plateau area, and the highland areas. In the narrow coastal area and the immediate hinterland, conditions are tropical with temperatures averaging 80°F. Humidity is relatively high and annual rainfall varies from 40 to 76 inches. The central plateau area, which constitutes most of the country, is warm and dry with temperatures varying considerably according to seasonal conditions. Annual rainfall in this area is between 20 to 30 inches. The highland areas are semi-temperate and cool and are grouped into various sections. The Pare and Usambara ranges are located in the northeast while the Livingstone Mountains are found in the southwest. Mt. Kilimanjaro, in the north, is the world's largest free—standing mountain and the highest mountain in Africa at 19, 340 ft.
