What To Do At Four Seasons Lodge

The Discovery Centre is a great place to learn about African culture and history. You can get to know the local Maasai people and become involved in socially responsible programs, such as those that help local schools and support wildlife conservation.

Our Shrike Safari Leader is affectionately at home in the savannah plains of the Serengeti. Exclusive game viewing with him and his trusty local safari guide are revelatory.

Depending on the time of year and the wildlife movements, your guide may take you in search of the Great Migration, or to look for the many other fascinating creatures that inhabit the Serengeti.

Infinity Pool Overlooking an Elephant Waterhole

Take a break from your safari adventures and cool off in our free—form infinity pool overlooking the watering hole and Serengeti plains. With sunbeds and bar service, it’s an idyllic setting from which to watch a glorious sunset or admire a turquoise sky. Drinks are served from sunrise to sunset.

Sunset Kopje Nature Walk and Meditation

On-site Discovery Centre offering wildlife education and local history

This unique Discovery Centre is part museum and part lecture theatre, offering an interactive experience where you can learn about the Serengeti—Mara ecosystem, which highlights the movements of the Great Migration., history, and people of the Serengeti.

For keen photographers, the fully equipped photographic exhibition space has camera-cleaning gear, and an iMac with image processing software, and a range of lenses, cameras, and binoculars available for rent. You can also improve your photographic skills and learn from an in—house expert wildlife photographer.

Hot—Air Balloon Safari

What better way to take in the stunning Serengeti landscape than from the air..? A sunrise hot—air balloon flight over the Serengeti is sure to be one of the highlights of your safari. Flights last approximately one hour and are followed by a Champagne bush breakfast.

Hot—air balloon safaris require an early departure from the Lodge at approximately 4:45 am; a quick grab—and—go breakfast is provided. For maximum enjoyment, children are permitted from age seven and above.

Whether you’re looking to celebrate a special occasion or simply wishing to savor every moment of your time in the wilderness, choose from a selection of unique dining venues to be enjoyed along with menus that have been carefully crafted by our expert chefs. The Wine Cellar offers an exceptional opportunity to learn more about the world of wine, with a specific focus on South African wines.

We can organize for you a wine tasting session or hold a private dinner for up to 16 people, with specially selected food and wine pairings in a customized menu. Featuring contemporary African design, the inviting Wine Cellar in a separate room within Kula’s Restaurant.
