Updated: November 15

Experience the natural beauty and wild appeal of Tanzania with a top-notch local safari guide. 8—Day Tanzania Safari takes you through the baobab and elephant-dotted landscape of Tarangire, learn the dramatic story of the eruption and incredible formation of the breathtaking Eden that is the Ngorongoro Crater, and explore the world-renowned Serengeti, with its endless horizons and abundant wildlife ...with an option of meeting with the KopeLion Team in Ngorongoro, a beneficiary of the Lion Recovery Fund that ensures that the living ‘Lion King story is continued for our children’s children.

July 7 marks our 16th year anniversary... we are celebrating one decade and six years of providing our guests with exceptional safari experiences in East Africa and changing the lives of the orphaned and destitute children in Tanzania. A 16—year history in Tanzania means we've worked out the details... we know how to get things done. It is our passion to share our knowledge and understanding of the African wilderness and its inhabitants with you.

This year, we are paying tribute to the new Lion King and to #ProtectThePride—Disney’s campaign in support of the Lion Recovery Fund, a global organization dedicated to the future of Africa’s wild lions. Be informed that since the release of the original Lion King, the population of wild lions in Africa has decreased by 50% :( Conserving lions is at heart of this safari. The KopeLion team will receive a donation for every ‘Founder's Safari Adventure participants.

...this safari is dedicated to supporting the KopeLion team, an initiative that fosters human—lion coexistence in Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

Meet your Dedicated Safari Planner...

We do an anniversary every year ...however, for the next 5 years, we are focusing on paying tribute to the new Lion King and to #ProtectThePride through—KopeLion project in Ngorongoro. It's heartbreaking that since the release of the original Lion King, the wild lion inhabitants have halved.

Apart from protecting the lions, I really concentrate on maximizing choices of experiences in every location you are visiting... and hitting your every need and interest.

In keeping with our commitment to personalized service and exclusive arrangements, the Shrike Specialty safaris are always small and intimate in size—carefully crafted to avoid any “big-group” feeling. Our safari vehicle accommodates no more than six guests.

What is the best time to come on this safari?

There is no best time, each season has its own special features. Safari in the rainy season [April—May, and October—November] and the landscape is beautifully green, the dust has settled and there are fewer guests on safari. The grass is fertile and tall which makes the spotting game more challenging but rewarding. The rain will mainly fall during the night. The remainder of the year is called the dry season, when there is less water available so animals tend to congregate around the water sources, making game spotting easier. High season attracts more guests on safari specifically from June to September.
