Herds As Far As The Eye Can See
Serengeti | Ndutu Plains
The Great Wildebeest Migration Safari
Experience the wonder and immensity of the Great Migration on the vast plains of the Serengeti—witness great numbers of wildebeest calves being born within the space of a few weeks.
This safari has been designed with the aim of witnessing the Great Migration during the calving season. At the beginning of the short rainy season end of October, the herds of wildebeest start arriving at the short-grass plains of the Serengeti around early November. The short-grass plains are located in the area east and south of the Seronera-the heart of the Serengeti, around the Ndutu area and the northern Ngorongoro Conservation area. Huge herds of wildebeest and zebra can easily be seen roaming around the plains as they feed on the green pastures. It has been recorded that more than 300,000 calves of wildebeest are born during the first two weeks of February.
They normally stay in the area till early April and later start heading west towards the Grumet River and Musabi plains in the Western Corridor of the Serengeti National Park. Kindly note that this is a natural phenomenon in rare cases the Great Migration be affected by rainfall, availability of water and food in the area, predators, and nutrition contents in the grasses.

To witness that calm rhythm of life revives our worn souls and recaptures a feeling of belonging to the natural world. No one can return from the Serengeti unchanged, for tawny lions will forever prowl our memory and great herds throng our imagination.”

From the moment that we pick you up until the moment of your reluctant departure, all meals and beverages (including soft drinks, house wines, well spirits, and local beers) are provided as part of our all-inclusive safari cost—an extravagant saving and an enormous convenience.
The quality of the cuisine in lodges and camps is also superb. Meats, vegetables, and fruit arrive daily, fresh from the rich farmlands in Mwanza or Arusha. Early riser’s coffee is served before the sunrise game drive, followed by abundant breakfast buffets, luncheons on the veranda, and a formal afternoon tea. Dinners are fashionably late following the return of the afternoon game drive, allowing time for relaxation and “sundowners” in the lounge or around the campfire.
