During the dry season [June to October], the time when many of the migratory wild creatures return to the permanent waters of the Tarangire River, the park act as a bloodstream for a higher concentration of wild animals in Northern Tanzania. Large herds of buffalo, elephants, hartebeests, topi, and oryx shelter here until the end of October, the beginning of the wet season when they start migrating to lush new grazing land.
